Join master flamenco guitarist Robert "Berto" Boyd, guitarist/singer Grant Ruiz, percussionist Terry Longshore, and Portland-based dancer Elena Villa for an evening of flamenco, the fiery art from the south of Spain. They will present traditional flamenco songs and dances, along with original compositions by Berto. The concert will be given in the beautiful tasting room of Paschal Winery in Talent, Oregon, and show time is 7:00 P.M.
You may also sign up for a pre-show dinner at the winery, provided by Arbor House Restaurant (http://arborhouserestaurant.com). The menu is chicken and sausage paella, a traditional Spanish rice dish, with salad. Sorry, no vegetarian option is available, although the winery sells fruit and cheese plates separately. Dinner starts at 6:00 P.M. Of course, wine will be available, and you are welcome to come to the tasting room before dinner to enjoy a glass.
For those who attended the sold-out performance with Grant, Terry and Elena in May at the winery, you know you'll be in for a good time. With the masterful Berto Boyd added as the featured artist, this show will raise the roof!
Berto is also conducting a guitar workshop the next morning, Saturday, Dec. 20 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. The focus will be on technique and harmonization. For information and reservations, call 541-261-3811.
