Christmas with the Brass Roots and Organ
The 4th Season of Cathedral Concerts at East Liberty Presbyterian Church continues with a sonic spectacular of music for the Christmas season. The church's resident brass ensemble, The Brass Roots, will be joined by organist Edward Alan Moore on Friday, December 19 at 8:00 PM in the church's sanctuary.
The concert is free. A freewill offering will be received during the concert.
Featured on the concert will be familiar carols sung by the audience, and arrangements of Christmas classics for brass ensemble and pipe organ, including an arrangement for brass from Tchaikovsky's beloved Nutcracker.
An exciting addition to the musical community at ELPC is our new resident brass ensemble, The Brass Roots. Made up of some of Pittsburgh's finest young brass players, The Brass Roots will be featured on two of the Cathedral Concerts (December 19, 2014 and May 17, 2015), as well as during the 11:00 am Sunday worship service on six Sundays throughout the year.
Dr. Edward Alan Moore is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and joined the staff of East Liberty Presbyterian Church in 2011 as Organist/Music Director.
