2015 Annual AMTA-Idaho Convention

We will kick off the festivities with a No-Host Meet and Greet and EXPO. Come network with our amazing presenters, your AMTA-Idaho Board members, and meet fellow therapists from throughout the northwest. The EXPO promises to be a fun and engaging event with raffles, door prizes, vendor booths and even a photo booth where you can mug with you therapist besties!

All attendees will receive a swag bag filled with the latest and greatest samples from our generous supporters including China Gel, Biofreeze,Migraine Miracle, Natural Formulations, Topricin, NCTMB, Dr, Hoys, Sombra, Bon Vital, and Real Bodywork.


Workshop offerings are:

A)Touch for Health I (This workshop is full and no longer available)

B)Integrated Manual Therapy and Orthopedic Massage for Pelvic Stabilization and Upper Body Conditions (16 CEUs)

These innovative structurally oriented routines, offer pain-free multi-modality methods for achieving immediate results from the following clinical conditions: Low back pain, SI joint, dysfunction, disc compression, bulging discs, sciatica, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder impingement, bursitis, pectoralis minor strains, bicipital tendinosis, rhomboid pain, thoracic outlet, cervical sprains and strains, whiplash, atlas / axis & C1/C2 mobilization, migraine headaches, medial and lateral epicondyle pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and joint arthritis. Ground-breaking Frozen Shoulder and Hip Capsule Adhesion techniques will highlight this dynamic interactive workshop. This incredible multimedia presentation, consisting of assessments, treatments, and client self care for chronic pain and sports injuries, will facilitate permanent results; even in the most complicated clinical conditions.  

James Waslaski is an Author & International Lecturer who teaches approximately 40 seminars per year around the globe.  He's developed 8 Orthopedic Massage and Sports Injury DVDs, and authored manuals on Advanced Orthopedic Massage and Client Self Care. James received the 1999 FSMTA International Achievement Award and was inducted into the 2008 Massage Therapy Hall of Fame.

A 3-hour ethics class is included with full registration or may be purchased separately.

Ethics: State Requirements and Beyond (3CEUs)

While the ethics requirements for entry level massage therapists is higher than ever Massage Therapist ethical violation reports have risen. Why?  The issue in our industry is not a knowledge gap-it is a skills gap.  Join me in this dynamic discussion-forum class where we delve into the ethical problems peppering this area and brainstorm ways to help increase the overall ethical behavior.

Courtney Peterson graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy in 2005, and began teaching massage in 2010.  She has a passion for learning and enjoys taking as many continuing education classes as she can.  

All educators of the 2015 AMTA-Idaho Chapter Convention are NCBTMB-certified CE providers.

8:00-12:30 Workshop of choice
12:30-1:30 AMTA-Idaho Member Meeting-Brown Bag Lunch
1:30-5:00 Workshop of choice
6:00-7:30 AMTA-Idaho Convention Banquet (open to all attendees!)

April 26th
7:30-8:30 Yoga with Jessica Dean
9:00-12:00 Ethics Workshop

A Convention Banquet (included with registration) will be held Saturday evening and is open to everyone, not just AMTA members. We will be raising money for the Massage Therapy Foundation so we will have a silent auction for some fabulous massage-related items! We'd love to have you join us!

Door prizes and silent auction items include donations from Custom Craftworks, Sombra, Bon Vital, Topricin, The Med Stone, Migraine Miracle, Dr. Hoys, Biofreeze,Lotus Touch and a one-night stay at the Osprey Yurts in Cascade, ID.


Cancellation Policy: All refunds will be handled directly by AMTA-Idaho and will not be issued until the event has been funded, which is approximately 2 weeks after the end of the convention. In the case of a "No Show," no refund will be granted.
