Celtic Fiddle Festival
Celebrate St. Valentine's Day with the Celtic Fiddle Festival; their fiddle bows shoot Cupid's arrows straight at your heartstrings. Last year the Celtic Fiddle Festival celebrated their 20th year of mesmerizing, breathtakingly virtuosic & powerful music making with the release of their sixth CD, 'Live in Brittany.' Called 'three of the finest folk violinists anywhere' by the Washington Post, the group features giant of Irish music Kevin Burke (The Bothy Band, Patrick Street), renowned Breton musician Christian Lemaitre (Kornog) & charismatic Quebecois dynamo Andre Brunet (De Temps Antan, La Bottine Souriante). Accompanied by acclaimed Breton guitarist Nicholas Quemener (Arcady, Kornog), the high-octane quartet combine their tremendous talents, musical traditions and spontaneous humor for an evening of dazzling energy and subtle grace. In concert, each artist plays a set showcasing their individual style and Celtic region followed by a collaborative climax where together they play with such relentless precision and fire that the tunes transcend all cultural and geographic barriers and leaves the audience with a memorable musical experience.
