Pushing the Envelope with Eva Rose
We all know someone who has lost a family member, fought cancer, lost their homes to a natural disaster, found the strength to walk away from an abusive relationship or has overcome any number of great obstacles. These people are heroic inspirations. But what happens after they survive? They are considered strong, referred to as "one of the lucky ones". We love, admire and praise them but over time we forget how real their struggle was and move on with our own lives, forgetting the debris that is left after the carnage. They might have survived but their life does not suddenly fix itself. What then? All of a sudden the real world rears its fearsome head with the expectation that they can just pick up where they left off but what do they have left? They have spent years surviving with no room to plan for a future. It is a luxury to live for the future when all you can think is whether you're going to survive the day.
What I envision to do is help these people, the people who survived but want progress and to succeed. I want to support people who are actively seeking to better their lives. Whether it is to find housing, health insurance, legal services, or advocate for education. This is the side of struggle people all too often forget about.
Thank you for joining me in this cause!
