Spiral Up Kids with special guest Marco Benevento
Ulster Savings Bank and WDST presents Spiral Up Kids with special guest Marco Benevento at The Rosendale Theater 845-658-8989 @ 408 Main St. Rosendale, NY on Saturday, December 6 at 1pm - doors open at 12 noon. Suggested donation admission tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for all kids under 18 years of age and $25 for a family four pack. Tickets will be available at the door starting at noon.
Spiral Up Kids has been sound-tracking the family experience since 2009. Their improvisational and interactive shows unite audiences young and old with spirited sing-alongs, impromptu audience participation, and most importantly lots of wild and crazy dancing! Spiral Up Kids blends an earthy jamband style with layers of sweet vocal harmonies to create an originally infectious roots based sound.
They will be joined by keyboard wizard Marco Benevento who has been fronting and touring with his own band for several years. He is currently touring and promoting his new album Swift. Benevento and Spiral Up Kids' guitarist Darren Cohen connected in the late 90's having met in the Boston music scene.
Spiral Up Kids' new release Road Trip will be released on December 9, 2014.It features special guests Marco Benevento on piano, organ, and accordion, Simi Stone (Natalie Merchant, Dan Zanes, Elizabeth Mitchell) on vocals and violin and Grammy Award winner Steve Gorn on Bonsuri Flute.
Spiral Up Kids has played various benefit shows throughout the years supporting local schools, libraries and various other organizations. They have assisted in raising funds for new playground equipment, books for less fortunate children, and helping fundarts in education.
Rondout Valley Food Pantry's Weekend Backpack Program last year sent home more than 1,650 backpacks with students. Volunteers send approximately two days of food for one child, each weekend and they will send additional food on long weekends.
