(mostly) TRUE THINGS December storytelling slam
Long Island's only local storytelling slam, titled (mostly) TRUE THINGS is a monthly event featuring Long Island storytellers from all walks of life telling 8-minutes true stories without notes, but with a bit of a twist. This slam features 4 storytellers sharing an 8-minute true story, without notes. One of those stories will be absolutely true. The other 3 are peppered with little white lies, distortions or cleverly crafted fabrications. After the stories the audience gets into the act, questioning the storytellers, then voting for the nothing-but-the-truth teller. Winners get a prize. The audience is as entertaining as the storytellers and the truth about each story comes out in the end. Everyone experiences the humor, heart and human connection that makes live storytelling of true  or mostly true  personal accounts a compelling and popular form of entertainment.

Lifestage, Inc created and sponsors this community-building event that includes a part of the evening called "plugs" in which anyone can plug their business, upcoming event, website, service, or fundraiser. People are making money right now because they plugged their work at (mostly) TRUE THINGS.

Host and Creator: Jude Treder-Wolff, President, Lifestage, Inc
The event will be hosted by writer/performer and storyteller Jude Treder-Wolff, whose solo storytelling show CRAZYTOWN: my first psychopath, was featured at The Peoples Improv Theater, Actors Theatre Workshop, The Midtown International Theatre Festival, The Charles B. Wang Center at Stonybrook University and the 2012 Chicago and San Francisco Fringe Festivals. She performs at a wide variety of New York City venues including New York Comedy Club, Stand-Up New York, The Duplex, and Danny's Skylight Room and Rose's Turn as well as clubs and fundraising events around the country. Her story "Winter Storm" is on the Christmas Day 2013 broadcast of Kevin Allison's RISK! podcast.
