Maestro Productions presents a Madison Area Community Christmas Festival, featuring over eighty local performers, at the Middleton Performing Arts Center, 2100 Bristol Street, on Saturday, December 20 (shows at 2 & 7pm) and Sunday, December 21 (one matinee show at 2pm). The first half of the program is a community showcase of local music ensembles performing Christmas favorites including: The Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble, Choral Arts Society Chorale, and Mad City Brass (UW Madison Graduate Brass Quintet). The second half of the concert will feature the Christmas Festival Choir & Orchestra, under the direction of Mark Bloedow, presenting a varied program including a festive orchestral overture, "A Christmas Portrait," the fully orchestrated choral celebration "Canticle of Joy" by Joseph Martin, "And the Glory of the Lord" and the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Messiah (G. F. Handel), and a closing audience Carol sing.
