JITNEY on Broadway in Oakland CA. The Lower Bottom Playaz, Inc Oakland's premiere North American African Theater Company continues their march through August Wilson's American Century Cycle. Jitney the eighth play in the ten play cycle opens December 26, 2014, and runs weekends through January 3 for a total of seven shows at: 1540 Broadway, The Flight Deck in uptown Oakland. The cast includes Adimu Madyn, Koran Streets, Stanley Hunt and Luchan Baker directed by Ayodele Nzinga. The production concludes the troupes 14th Season of theater in Oakland and puts them a season away from thier goal of formally staging Wilson's greatest work in chronological order of the decades presented in the work that presents the 20th Century from the lens of North American Africans. Join them at Oakland's newest 100 seat black-box theater as they present Jitney. Fri 7:00 pm shows, Saturday 2:00 pm matinee and 7:00 pm showpm , Sunday 2:00 matinee.
