Internationally acclaimed author and UCLA psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Siegel is easily the most respected name in his field, and his new book, "Mind: A Journey to the Heart of Being Human" is being praised by Deepak Chopra, Arianna Huffington, Diane Ackerman, Alanis Morissette, and more.

This special evening is presented in partnership with the Menlo-Atherton Parent Education Series.

Dr. Siegel has led us on thoughtful explorations of the teenage brain, personal transformation, brain development in people of all ages, and so much more.  Now he broadens his focus to try and define the essence of the mind.  Emotions, thoughts, and memories have been described and studied but more broadly: What is the mind? What is the experience of the self truly made of? How does the mind differ from the brain? No matter what is happening in the world, were always confronted with pressing personal and global questions about identity, connection, and the cultivation of well-being in our lives.

Join us for a deeply personal and scientific journey into consciousness, subjective experience, and information processing, uncovering the minds self-organizational properties that emerge from both the body and the relationships we have with one another, and with the world around us.
