Join us for this free 3 hour workshop to explore the evidence-based, weight-neutral approach to working with clients- Health At Every Size. We'll explore the science behind this compassionate and effective approach to helping all our clients, no matter what their weight. This workshop will provide an introduction to weight science, promoting health behavior change, and how the current climate of size discrimination impacts our clients. It will also provide information on how to apply HAES to clients with Anorexia and Bulimia, and why it's so important to their recovery as well. Registered dietitians from Opal will lead this didactic and experiential workshop.
Participants will leave this work shop able to:
*Explain the research supporting a Health At Every Size approach *Explain why using a HAES approach supports recovery in clients with Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder. *Describe clinical & social reasons to use HAES with clients *Describe the 3 tenets of HAES *Approach working with clients from a weight-neutral perspectives *Explore how, as clinicians, our own size bias impacts our work with clients and how to begin challenging our assumptions and prejudice.
