Dance UK Industry Wide Conference 2015. "The Future: New Ideas, New Inspiration"
From the 9 - 12 April 2015, the dance sector will come together to discuss, debate and share their vision for the future of the industry.
Day 2 - Saturday 11 April
Venue: Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance:
"Invest, Create, Innovate"
Themes include:
National Dance Network strand: From an idea to the finished product, the journey to the making of dance. How ideas grow and are tested.
Healthier Dancer strand: Gathering the best new models in promoting health and improving performance from dancers, teachers, researchers and medical professionals.
What Dancers Need?: Sessions looking at dancers pay and career transition
Dance Dramaturgy: De-mystifying the choreographers' partner in the studio. Speakers include Akram Khan, Ruth Little, David Nixon, Patricia Doyle, Lou Kemp and Helda Seabra
The Future of the Art Form: Individual sessions looking at the future of Ballet, Ballroom, African People's Dance, Musical Theatre and South Asian Dance.
Registration will begin from 9am and sessions will finish at 6pm.
Optional Evening Celebration / Performance: Vicky Igbokwe's Uchenna Dance presents "Our Mighty Groove" at Greenwich Dance. The 7pm performance is sold out but there are still tickets for the show at 9pm. This is included in the conference ticket price. Performance lasts approximatley 50mins.
Day ticket prices include the following:
- Access to the full programme that day
- Refreshments and catering on the day
- Optional access to the Opening Ceremony on Thursday 9 April. (places limited so early booking recommended)
- Optional access to Saturday evening performance and party. Uchenna Dance will perform "Our Mighty Groove" followed by drinks and dancing at Greenwich Dance
- Conference programme and delegate pack
Afternoon session tickets are now available to purchase individually for £15 each. Please note this ticket option does NOT include catering, entrance to any other sessions that day or the option to attend the Opening Celebration.
