IDF Benefit Concert
An event including a concert by the Israeli rock band YaRock, speakers, and more!
All Proceeds go to the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF).
Their mission statement is: "The FIDF initiates and helps support social, educational, cultural and recreational programs and facilities for the young men and women soldiers of Israel who defend the Jewish homeland. The FIDF also provides support for the families of fallen soldiers."
Giving back to the IDF soldiers is significant because at the young age of 18, courageous men and women set out to defend their country. By providing these young men and women with love and support, we, as the Jewish community, can help ease the burden they carry. These soldiers look after all of Israel, and it is our duty to look after them and provide them with the care that they need.
Some soldiers in the IDF are from the United States, and do not have families close-by that can support them. It is important that every single IDF soldier feels loved and appreciated because their duty to defend Israel is extremely essential.
This event is made possible by the Jewish Teen Mentor Project (JTMP).
JTMP's mission statement: "The Jewish Teen Mentor Project is a youth-led initiative that encourages Jewish teens to plan large-scale community service projects. These teens, each paired with a professional or lay-leader in the Jewish community, carry out their own creative and original project. With the guidance of the mentors, the teens gain leadership, time management, and event planning skills that will help and encourage them to become the Jewish leaders of tomorrow."
