Event
Holcombe Waller and the Healers, with Special Guests
Holcombe Waller is a local singer-songwriter and performance artist who does everything from solo acoustic shows to large scale theatrical multi-media productions. This concert is a must-see moment, his first concert in Portland since last Summer. He is completing and fundraising for his fourth record, and will be celebrating it's completion with this special show featuring many amazing local luminaries and guests. You can get a preview of some of the new music on his website, http://www.holcombewaller.com.
Though a rather under-the-radar artist, you may have heard Holcombe on OPB's LiveWire! or even WNYC's "Spinning on Air," or at his recent appearance in "Songs for Haiti" or one of Storm Large's shows at the Aladdin or with the Oregon Symphony. You may have also seen one of his notable collaborations with Joe Goode Performance Group or Seattle dancer/choreographer Zoe Scofield, or caught one of Holcombe's performances at TBA 06, 07 or March 08 Imago Theater show. Tonight's the night to finally just come hang with Holcombe in his element, backed by his awesome classical / folk / rock ensemble, The Healers, featuring permanent members Galen Cohen (Portland Cello Project), Ben Landsverk (Portland's premiere uber-skilled music talent), Kelly Meyer (Vancouver Symphony) and Steve Kennon (most recently recovering from employment at Starbucks). They'll be playing Holcombe favorites, new and old, and sharing the revelry of Spring and a new record in the works.
Everyone in attendance will receive an exclusive download code for a special EP of music from the record! Bring your date, bring your mom, bring your kids (over 21...)... see you there.
