MARK KIESWETTER (KEY-SWEATER) (piano, arranging)
Versatile pianist Mark Kieswetter has performed alongside jazz greats including Zoot Sims, Jack Sheldon and James Moody. For over three years, he was the musical director for the legendary Jon Hendricks, working with him in developing the large vocal ensemble "VocalstraĆ¢", and performing at such venues as the International Association of Jazz Educators in New York and the Sorbonne in Paris.
RICHARD 'RICH' BROWN (bass, guitar, percussion)
Rich taught himself to play bass at the age of 17 by listening to artists such as Jaco Pastorius, Victor Bailey, Jimmy Haslip, and Alain Caron. Since then, he has has appeared on over forty recordings in a broad range of musical styles including jazz, funk, latin, traditional Asian, and Arabic music. He has performed and recorded with Carol Welsman, Jane Siberry, Glenn Lewis,Andy Milne'sDapp Theory, Steve Coleman & 5 Elements, James "Blood" Ulmer, Vernon Reid, Andy Narrell and Bruce Cockburn. More recently, he as performed internationally with numerous artists including with Rudresh Mahanthappa and Donny McCaslin, was featured as a member of the Kenny Kirkwood Quartet, and led his own band, rinsethealgorithm, for a number of years.
Brown released a solo bass recording, Between Heaviness & Here in 2014 on ADDO Records and features mostly original compositions as well as pieces by Ennio Morricone and Little Dragon.
LEWIS SPRING (Drums, Percussion)
Lewis is an alumni of the highly respected University of Toronto Jazz Program. He has been playing jazz and multiple styles for the last decade, often dipping into Jewish repertoire on the Toronto music scene. He plays with numerous bands in town in various milieus.
FAITH AMOUR (Vocals)
Singer/songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist Faith Amour brings worlds together through lyric, story and song. Winner of 2014's Best Jazz CD and 2013's Best Vocal Performance awards from the NMMA, she blends contemporary and traditional jazz atmospheres with the vibrant rhythms of her South American/Caribbean heritage and heart songs from around the world. This Toronto native released her debut album last year, "Bright Eyes" to wide acclaim. Faith has appeared alongside some of Canada's foremost jazz instrumentalists, including Robi Botos, Mark Kieswetter, Ross McIntyre, Dave Restivo, and Neil Swainson, as well as New Mexico heavyweights John Rangel, Cal Haines and Mark Clark.
