The intimacy of song, the passion of poetry.
The Casement Fund Song Series is proud to present its second recital of the season, featuring two gorgeous young singers performing contemporary song in their New York City recital debuts, along with the wonderful pianist Steven McGhee
About the Producer: The Casement Fund Song Series is a recital series hosted by the Casement Fund, a trust set up to encourage creative writing and poetry, and by extension the written word as it relates to Art Song. Its mission is to provide a home for poetry and classical music through passionate performances of Art Song in New York City. Our concerts highlight world class artists featured in intimate and interesting spaces breaking the boundaries between music, art and creative writing. The Song Series is curated by soprano Martha Guth.
Amy Petrongelli: Soprano Amy Petrongelli had her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist for Haydn's Creation as part of the Masterworks Choral Series, and recent performances include Schoenberg's 'Pierrot Lunaire' at Tanglewood, Joseph Schwantner's Sparrows with the Contemporary Directions Ensemble, and several world premiers. Opera credits include Amy in Little Women, Adina in L'Elisir d'Amore, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and Tatiana in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
