Orange County: OC Roller Girls Present Love Hurts: A Roller Derby Bout

The OC Roller Girls will present the 2nd bout in their first season as Orange County's Roller Derby league.
Following the success of their sold-out inter-league match against Inland Empire in January, Love Hurts will pit the Trophy Wives against the Psycho Ex-Girlfriends.
The match will be held at 949 Roller Hockey, 3150 Barranca Parkway in Irvine. Doors will open at 6:00 pm, and the bout begins at 7:00. Spectators of all ages are permitted, but there are some safety-related seating restrictions for young fans.
Tickets will cost $12 for general admission and $20 for VIP seats.
There will be entertainment including live music from the band Far Away Boys, a special appearance by OC Elvis & Burlesque (PG-13) by Pepper La Rue. Food and non alcoholic drinks will be available from 949 Roller Hockey between periods.

Thanks in no small part to being featured on the hit A&E Network reality show "Rollergirls", Roller Derby has seen a major resurgence in recent years. Individual local and national leagues have sprung up around the country, and Orange County is no exception. Far from the typical "Newport Beach Housewife" perception of the OC, Roller Derby is part hockey, part windsprints, part primal rage, and entirely entertaining.
Can the scorned psycho ex-girlfriends blood thirst muster a win against the raw power of the Trophy Wives, or will the Wives roll over the Psycho Ex-Girlfriends?

IMPORTANT PARKING ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2-17-07
To keep this a safe event for everyone (and keep you from getting your car towed if you park at nearby businesses) you have two options for parking:
#1
Park at (after party location) Gators Up South (Sand Canyon & I-5) and take our roundtrip shuttle ($4) on the OC Hopper to the rink and back.
Shuttle will run from 5:30- 7:00. Look for someone in an orange shirt.

Make a right on Harvard
Make a right into Col Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park
Once you have parked you will need to walk through the softball fields to the bridge that connects the Park to the 949 Roller Hockey parking lot.
