The 7 Shades of Bosque del Apache: Winter Birds (Lecture)
Explore the colors of the world-renown Bosque del Apache through the rich diversity of birds that spend the winter in this national treasure. Join us for an overview of the wintering birds of the Bosque. Some come in astounding numbers, while only one or two of others stop by. Some lay low in the shrubbery while others rise with thundering clamor when they fly from field to pond. Hear about why these birds are in New Mexico and where to find what in this colorful refuge. Rob Yaksich is an instructional coordinator for the New Mexico State Parks Division and a life-long birder. Rob served as park naturalist at the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park from 1999-2006 and also for Pima County Natural Resources, Parks & Rec in Tucson, Arizona. He has helped lead birding trips in Bosque del Apache for over 15 years.
