Join Music Ecology, Lost In Bass, and notsmart.net as we present to you Jazzsteppa in their only east coast stop on this tour. Part of the Together New England Electronic Music Festival taking place in Boston Feb. 8th-14th.

The Jazzsteppa Live Set involves both original material and adaptations on a variety of musical genres and themes, emphasizing on the value of the roots from which our music has evolved.
Originally formed by ShmueL! (Gal Moore) & BarBie (Gal Bar-Adon) in 2006, Jazzsteppa is the first live dubstep band. The four original band members (BarbiE: Trombone, MC, effects. Mathieu Pe: Trumpet, Effects. Fred: Laptop, Noise. ShmueL!: Dj) managed to create a unique sound using their experience as live jazz musicians combined with their ongoing involvement with bass-heavy dance-floor music.

Supporting act Bakir and Sirios (Spit Bros., Dubs Alive, SF)
Bakir is a dubstep/sublow producer and performer based in San Francisco since arriving from Boston in 2004. Previously he had been in attendance at Berklee College of Music where he studied jazz composition, film scoring, and trumpet performance. His live show is a mix of djing, dub-fading, and live instrumental perfomance.

Bakir has shared bills with DZ, Kush Arora, Juakali, Antiserum, Matty G, Caspa and Rusko, Roommate, Eskmo, and DJunya. He has releases (some forthcoming) as a producer and/or instrumentalist on Full Melt Recordings, Dubs Alive Records, Badman Press Recordings, and Kush Arora Productions.

He is a founding member of The Spit Brothers and currently produces and performs as a multi-instrumentalist (trumpet, keyboard, and melodica) for that group.
