Elizabeth grew up in Rural Retreat, Virginia surrounded the by ballads and old-time songs of the Appalachians. She sings these songs the way these folks and their ancestors might have sung them - you can feel the warmth and emotion in her stories - and poetry in the songs. She was very well received at East Lansing's Great Lakes Folk Festival and the Fiddle is proud to have her back to town!
