Stevens NSBE Fashion Show
Research shows that sound travels at the rate of 1,120 feet per second where as light travels at 186,000 miles per second. In effect, before an individual's intellect is examined, their exterior is assessed. One is seen before heard. The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) wants to show how important appearance is in the professional world.
NSBE is largest student-managed organization in the world. In adherence with our mission "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community," we are hosting a corporate fashion show dedicated to educating young professionals about the fashions of the Business World. The show is appropriately entitled "Sexy but Sophisticated: Fashions of the Corporate World," as we promote popular and stylish professional wear, leisure dress, formal attire, and cocktail party apparel.
The event is scheduled to take place at Stevens Institute of Technology, 1 Castle Point on the Hudson, Hoboken, NJ 07030 on the 4tth floor (Bissinger Hall) of the Wesley J. Howe Building on February 19, 2010. The show will start promptly at 7:00pm. NSBE has given the participating companies the opportunity to sell their fashions during the intermission and conclusion of the show. With the spring season approaching, we recommend that our guest be prepared to purchase the latest trends. One of our participating companies, Ibrahim [Men's Custom Suits], invites you for refreshments at their free fitting. They are extending a special offer of a 10% discount on all custom suit and shirt orders to all NSBE members, alumni, and Stevens students. In addition, Ibrahim will match another 10% that will go directly to the treasury of NSBE.
Please come to Stevens to support the growth of successful engineers in the world!
