If you had a second chance to reconnect with someone you loved and lost, would you take it?

Aging and ever in love Ethel and Norman Thayer return to their cherished lake house on Golden Pond for the summer. Age is taking its toll on the Thayers but their peaceful corner of the world is still intact. The calm however is soon disrupted by the arrival of their estranged daughter Chelsea, her new fiance, and his teenage son. Chelsea and her fiance fly off to Europe leaving the young man behind. Through humor and heartache the family endeavors to reconnect, bridge generations, and find common ground before its too late.
