Handless
Central Stage Richmond, CA
HANDLESS is an original re-invention of the folk-tale, The Handless Maiden. Written & directed by ensemble member Amy Sass, HANDLESS is a tale about growth, both violent and gradual. It is about the passage from self-pity to perseverance. Set in a mythic time, a father unwittingly bargains away his daughter, Grace, to the Taker. When it comes time to collect, a random act of cruelty alters the girl's future forever. With the loss of her hands, Grace must discover how to heal her self and to reclaim some faith in her future. HANDLESS explores the journey toward womanhood through the lens of loss.
