Mt. Diablo String Band (www.pleasantvalleymusic.com/Diablo.htm)
From Walnut Creek, California the Mt. Diablo String Band performs energetic old-time music, featuring inspired fiddle tunes and vocal numbers. The band has been performing periodically for the last few years in Northern California. Bandleader Carl Pagter sings and plays clawhammer banjo. Harry Liedstrand, who has been playing fiddle since age 4, is featured on fiddle and vocals. Corbin Pagter, Carls son, plays mandolin and sings. Cindy Liedstrand is the Diablos guitarist. Rounding out the group is Matt Dudman on string bass.
"The Roadoilers" is an old-time string band playing square dance and contra dance music, traditional country singing, ragtime, and Irish traditional music from down East, up North, down South and out West. John Pedersen (fiddle, banjo, vocals}, Mike Drayton (fiddle, vocals), Perry Fly (guitar, vocals), and Chuck Wiley (bass, vocals) have played together in various combinations for over 30 years, forming The Roadoilers several years ago. Added together, the band has over 160 years of experience playing old-time and bluegrass music. Now that's road tested.
