Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl
Prospero Theatre Company is proud to announce our premiere production, Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice, directed by Kate Wulf.
In a modern adaptation of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, playwright Sarah Ruhl follows Eurydice down into the underworld after she dies on her wedding day. Her husband Orpheus, the most beloved musician in the world, mourns her death through music and song, but soon determines to fight for her life. Meanwhile, Eurydice reunites with her father, who, at the protest of cranky Stones and the peculiar Lord of the Underworld, helps her to remember the life she lost, and the husband she left behind.
