Eartha Kitt: UnAuthorized Confessions of a Sex Kitten

An Intimate One Woman Show

Eartha Kitt: UnAuthorized Confessions takes the audience on an enlightening yet entertaining journey through the life and times of the LEGENDARY EARTHA KITT.  From unsavory beginnings, to overcoming it all, only to be shunned by her country, Eartha Kitt was a quadruple threat. She conquered Films, Television, Stage and was a famed singer with an unmistakable signature growl. She  was also a published author. She managed to cross all audiences, with each generation knowing and loving her for different pieces of her work.

With her strong and seasoned acting skills and her remarkable resemblance to the legend, Tyra "Ms. Kitt" Hughes draws the audience deep into this UNSUNG talent's world, causing viewers to experience sadness, struggle, joy, laughter and triumph all from this one powerful performance.  This is truly a must see show that will have you petitioning for more.

Eartha Kitt: UnAuthorized Confessions of a Sex Kitten was written for stage by Sanedria Potter of FastLane Pictures, who will also serve as Director for this performance.

Coming from a theatrical background, TYRA "Ms. Kitt" HUGHES has been on stage all of her life. Writing, producing, casting, and directing her 1st stage play at the age of 14 for her high school's Family Night. This caused her to be lauded by many, especially her family who was not aware that she was the mind behind the play until the end of the night when she was called to stage and awarded for such great work. Winning trophy after trophy each week during high school and Best Actress every year, Tyra went on to represent her high school in the National tournaments bringing home National trophies every time!

This went on into her college years as well where she won the 'National Association of Speech and Dramatic Arts', the coveted award also won by Samuel L Jackson during his college years.  Tyra faithfully served her country in the United States Air Force from 1998 to 2004.  While serving her country, Tyra also managed to obtain a four year degree in only two years from Dilliard University in Theater Arts and Creative Writing, hold down a fulltime job at the post office and raise three daughters.

Being a phenomenal Actress, Writer, Poet and Comedian, Tyra worked in the Post Office at night and dreamed of Hollywood all day. After several visits, she relocated herself and three daughters from New Orleans, Louisiana to Los Angeles California. Tyra hit the ground running and over the years she has been named in the Top 40 UNDER 40 by Gambit Weekly. She has had her original comedy featured on Bet's Comic View, Comedy Central's Chocolate News, the famed HA!HA! in Hollywood and Chicago's Second City Theater Company.  Tyra Hughes has appeared in national commercials such as Big Lots, A &P Sav a Center and Secret Deodorant. Her many TV credits include Bravo's Work Out TV Series, HBO's Treme' series, HGTV's Deserving Design and ABC's InJustice series. She has also graced the big screen in movies such as Baggage Claim, Cordially Invited and Nobody Smiling. Never one to only have one focus, Tyra Hughes is also known for the Oscar Award winning movie Ray, working alongside Jamie Fox as famed Costume Designer Sharon Davis's Costume Seamstress for the film.   Tyra has always been approached about her remarkable resemblance to Eartha Kitt and she feels that she was born to play this role.

Sanedria Potter
Founder and President of FastLane Pictures, LLC, a company that develops TV/FILM/STAGE projects, Sanedria Potter is without a doubt one of the most passionate personalities in the entertainment industry. She is a multi-talented powerhouse.  www.fastlanepictures.com.

True to her fearless character, North Carolina born Sanedria Potter, left her job as a 911 operator and moved across the country to California and attended the NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY at Universal Studios. She studied Filmmaking, Editing, Stage, and Screenwriting. During that time she participated in numerous productions.

Currently she is creating several Television Pilots and developing Screenplays.  Her film "Split Decision", that tackles the issues of the HIV virus in relationships, was screened at the "Women of Color Arts and Film Festival", in Atlanta, Ga. and the The Texas Law Enforcement Commission added it to their HIV Training curriculum.

Most recently she directed an All-MALE cast in the acclaimed stage play titled "Chess" that premiered at the Porter Sanford Performing Arts Center. She also brought the Los Angeles hit one man show "Did You Do Your Homework" (Winner of the 2010 NAACP Theatre Award) to the Atlanta market and was Co-producer on the project. Eartha Kitt: UnAuthorized Confessions of a Sex Kitten was written for stage by Sanedria Potter, who will also serve as Director for this Intimate One Woman Show. "Just as important as the message of Endurance and Courage that this show has for today's young people, is the opportunity to create much needed jobs and renewed interest in Theatre" says the New York Film Academy alumna Sanedria Potter. Sanedria Potter has developed several other historical stories in the one woman/man format. "Oftentimes in our culture the same stories get told and usually only in February," says Sanedria.

The writing of her book "Behind the Pulpit" was something she felt she had to do. She wanted people, young and old, to know that even if you did not have a storybook childhood, that it does not have to dictate your adult life, you can overcome anything.  The book took her to many cities for book signings and readings. She was featured on WGHP FOX 8 for their "Meet the Author" segment. She has had speaking engagements at schools, focusing on topics of "bullies" and "being inspired". These issues are tackled in her book. She is currently working on her next book.
