Edmond
Balagan Theatre Seattle, WA
David Mamet's "Edmond" paints a savage and frightening picture of society, tracing the fall of a businessman who goes on a whirlwind ride of self-destruction after being shaken by an encounter with a fortune teller.
Director Paul Budraitis uses modern media to bring his vision to Mamet's seedy underworld of man's darkest places, following Edmond's disintegration from husband and businessman to a horrifying and brutally violent conclusion. Social norms and sexuality are examined in this production that asks, "What you would be willing to do, if you lost everything?"
