Currently appearing at the Soho Playhouse in New York, Daniel Cainer is the featured entertainment. "Poignant and bitter-sweet without the schmaltz, for a while now virtuoso pianist Daniel Cainer has been mapping the comic and musical refrains that have travelled with him and his loved ones down the generations. An unsurpassed storyteller, he demurely leads his audience on a profoundly intimate exodus, retracing a diaspora both genealogical and personal, across geography and morality..."-Three Weeks Edinburgh. "A fourth generation British Jew, Cainer shares that group's ethnic discretion, while struggling with their attachment to all that marks them -- and him -- as somehow different from other Europeans. Stories of his family members recall biblical accounts of the ethical dilemmas of Abraham, the wiles of Jacob, the womanizing King David along with the later, candid Talmudic tales of rabbinic foibles."-The Jewish Week (New York).
