Originally a powerhouse duo, Avi & Celia found an outlet, literally, and have plugged into HEY MAMA, a contemporary rock n'roll band. The new Hey Mama record hits heavy and has the integrity to propel the band to the big stage. Brendan Hogan host of Blues on WGBH exclaims, "Hey Mama is stoking the rock & roll fire for a new generation."

"Hey Mama" was recorded with Grammy nominated producer Jack Gauthier. The band weaved in recording sessions throughout their summer tour, when they were hot from the energy of the live shows. The album itself resembles an art collection, providing a many-textured look at contemporary experiences, political and personal. Launching off the band's fiery synergy is Celia Woodsmith's explosively emotive voice, powerful but at times peacefully tender. The record also features guest appearances from The Tecumseh Strings, a chamber group of Boston's finest string players. This is a timeless album.

The eclectic pop of multi-instrumentalist Qwill opens the first night while blues inflected vocal powerhouse Mia Dyson pens the final night (solo).
