Astoria Tango Club - Third Anniversary
On November 23, 2014, The Astoria Tango Club celebrates three years of weekly "milongas"*, Golden Age Tango music, dining and dancing all in a nightclub that recreates the Buenos Aires of the 1940s and 1950s. A popular destination with Tango aficionados, the Club welcomes people interested in experiencing the best of a by-gone era.
Dine and dance in 40s-style when D'Arienzo "el Rey del compás" (the king of the beat) and his unstoppable rhythms captivated Tango dancers in Tango Salons across Argentina.
The anniversary celebration will feature The Astoria Tango Orchestra**, playing vintage Tango music.

** New York's own Astoria Tango Orchestra brings the Golden Age of the Argentine Tango to 21st century New York. The orchestra plays original 1940s & 1950s arrangements of the most beloved Tango songs, recreating a lost world where bandoneons and violins fill the night with music and the Tango poetry of love & loss cast a magical spell.
*milonga: a term for a place or an event where tango is danced. People who frequently go to milongas are sometimes called milongueros. The term "milonga" can also refer to a musical genre. The music played is mainly tango, vals and milonga (as the musical genre).
