Songwriters in the Round
Lisa Redfern brings three talented Maine songwriters to perform in an intimate, unplugged setting in Frontier's theatre for an evening of compelling songs and stories. For this concert, Lisa invites Dave Dersham, Jenny Van West, and Stan Davis to join her.
Lisa Redfern
Lisa is an award-winning singer-songwriter who just released her 10th solo recording (8th CD). This newest, "Once in a While", swings with 12 of Lisa's favorite jazz standards, accompanied by 6 piece jazz band. Lisa blends her roots in all forms of Americana and Roots music to create something unmistakably her own. For over 25 years, Lisa has brought joy and comfort to listeners of all ages. Dave Dersham
Dave was born in Oregon's Willamette Valley and spent his formative years in Western Massachusetts. Dave addressed his muse and settled into the Cambridge folk scene, playing shows at Club Passim, the Can-Tab Lounge, and the Nameless Coffeehouse. His first CD, "The Burn of Summer," enjoyed regular airplay on Folk Radio's WUMB and on numerous college stations. The songs also received selection for Mountain Stage's new artist contest. His second CD, "Gilding the Lilies," was released in 2011 and was promoted internationally. Currently, Dave is working on a new CD, to be released sometime next year.
Jenny Van West
Jenny Van West's original songs hit with passion and humor on the many facets of human vulnerability, and are delivered with potent stage presence and vocal horsepower listeners have compared to Alison Krauss and Emmy Lou Harris. Her loves of roots country, blues, gospel, and traditional fiddle styles pervade her vocal and instrumental work and have earned her TV and radio appearances. As a vocalist, songwriter, fiddle player and rhythm guitarist, performing solo and in collaboration, she has been honing her craft for many years. She lives in Portland, Maine and is currently working on her first album to be released in 2014
Stan Davis
Stan Davis writes songs about love, inspiration, doubt, and redemption from a small Maine town. His guitar playing ranges from the blues to folk song, from modal tunings to suspended chording. Performances mix storytelling, rhythmic finger style guitar, and songs that mix the personal with the universal. Stan's new CD of original music, Step To The Music You Hear, will be released this November.
