Event
TEDxTopeka 2014
On November 12, Topekans will come together for an evening of great food, amazing speakers, inspirational and thought-provoking videos, and mind-blowing discussion at TEDxTopeka. The event will feature speakers from across the region speaking on a variety of timely and interesting topics as well as two performing art pieces. There will also be a watch party in a separate room at the Civic Theatre.
"This event is an opportunity for speakers from Topeka and the surrounding areas to share their ideas with the world," said Nathan Morris, TEDxTopeka founder and organizing committee member. "There is so much talent in this community, and we want TEDxTopeka to help highlight the amazing things and people here."
The independently produced event, operated under a license from TED, was organized by community volunteers and aims to start conversations, share ideas, and engage the community.
TEDxTopeka is proud to call the Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy our first home. TCTA and it's crew have always spread creative and intriguing ideas throughout our community through various shows, live events, and classes. There's no better place to be home to the very first TEDxTopeka event.
Tickets are $50 for the live show, and $35 for the watch party. Tickets include parking, entrance and dinner. Ticket sales will begin on October 13 at 10:00am. There are only 100 tickets for the live event, and 150 tickets for the watch party, so don't wait to get yours. Join the conversation early by liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter @TEDxTopeka, and make sure to use #TEDxTopeka to let others know when you're talking about us. See you there!
