Gilded Concert Series: Concert 3-- Harpsichordist Jacob Stott 3pm-5pm
De-stress this Sunday afternoon from 35pm in a festively decorated haven of civilized calm, with a perfectly steeped cup of tea and the sparkling sounds of a harpsichord!
This charming afternoon has all the elegance and refinement of an Afternoon Tea without pretense or stuffiness.
Aldrich Mansion & Estate's last performance in its Gilded Concert Series will restore balance and inner peace during this brief respite between the chaotic holidays.
Jacob Stott is a talented musician specializing in Baroque and early music, and nothing quite sounds like a harpsichord!
What better place to listen than in a gilded mansion evoking the salons of another age?
The chef's delicate, savory finger sandwiches will be refreshingly light after a big turkey feast, and the friendly and enthusiastic tea experts at Trinity Confections will be on hand to ensure a quality cup of tea to pair with their freshly-baked scones and other treats.
Time to exhale!
Stott specializes in domestic keyboard music of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, 16th and 17th century Flemish and Dutch domestic keyboard music, 18th century Spanish, Portuguese and Basque keyboard music.
Aldrich Mansion has an impressive pedigree of history, power and glamor as the former home of Rhode Island Senator Nelson W. Aldrich, and it is considered a masterpiece of Gilded Age architecture and craftsmanship, perched on a hill overlooking the sea.
Free on site parking.
