The Furies at The Basement Nashville with Rachel Mac & The Revival and HEAR, HEAR!
Hailing from all over the country but converging in Boston, Massachusetts The Furies are a band apart. The all female group combines lyrical finesse with instrumental prowess, mixing catchy riffs and lush harmonies that draw from wide influences; Jeff Buckley, Regina Spektor and Led Zeppelin, to name a few. Not just a group of musicians, but a collaborative of songwriters, composers, and multi-instrumentalists, The Furies are carving out a name all their own and much like their namesake, they mean business.

Lead singer Lee Moretti is most noted for her time spent as Third Eye Blind's multi-instrumentalist and background vocalist. The Furies debut single, a remix of their song "Keep Away," was arranged, recorded and produced by Third Eye Blind's Stephan Jenkins, and features Third Eye Blind band members Brad Hargreaves and Abe Millet on drums and bass respectively. Their debut EP is slated for release in 2015.

"On a night when everything on stage was good, it took a tremendous push of energy to finish out on a high note, and the Furies didn't disappoint. The all-female band puts forward flat-out rock 'n' roll that both feels contemporary and blisters with hooks and propulsion (and notably a delightful inclusion of a cello on a couple of songs, which broke up the sound gorgeously). It was a powerhouse finish.."

- Victor D. Infante

Rachel Mac was born during the early 90's heyday of the Pacific Northwestern grunge scene with an old soul that never made it out of the 1970's. "I tried to grow up normal like the other kids, listening to the pop tween hits and boy bands of the late '90's, but in a pivotal moment of parental guidance, my dad told me I would never be cool unless I listened to The Stones and Zeppelin. So that's exactly what I did." Guitars that don't back down over a foundation of big drums and classic Hammond B3, modern rock with an old soul: this is Rachel Mac & The Revival. "These are the real stories of my life, the good, the bad, and the completely unexpected. This is the story of my revival."
-Rachel (Mac) Brandsness

In 2009, 18 year old Pittsburgh native, Kate Puckett packed up her 25 year old Chevy conversion van, named Gus, and moved to Music City to pursue her own calling: To be a light in the dark place while sharing her voice, music, and testimony with the world, wherever it took her. She played with her own band, HillCity Lights, for years, while working a "real job" in food service, and taking every opportunity she could to be heard. She found herself singing backup and going on coffee runs for many other artists in several downtown-studios. In 2013, she found herself without a band. She wondered if her voice and music would ever be heard.

In 2010, Matt Lloyd left his job as a worship leader in Indianapolis, Indiana to become a full-time touring guitar player in Nashville, TN. Always a songwriter at heart, however, he started a new band, Jump Start Your Heart, in Nashville to perform his original music. When the band broke up in 2013, he wondered if he would ever find the right opportunity to pursue his dream, and it is not in his nature to 'give up.'

When Matt and Kate met in January, 2014 to write for the first time, they quickly discovered that they shared the same vision, passion, and love for writing and performing their music. Most importantly, they shared the same (and sometimes crazy) amount of drive that makes them to put everything they have into their goal: To share their music with the world.

They have their eyes set on big destinations with their music; and backed with powerful songs, huge guitars, and soaring, soulful vocals, they just might make it happen right before your eyes.
