How To Write Like I Do with Brendan Kiley
826 Seattle Seattle, WA
During his years at the Stranger, Brendan Kiley has done and suffered some unpleasant things. He has killed and butchered rabbits in his bathtub, been doused with pepper spray at the Republican National Convention (after showing his press credentials to police), gotten lost in the woods at night with a pack of wild coyotes, and turned his bare ass over to a professional dominatrix. In this one-night-only class, Brendan will discuss turning pain into prose.
ABOUT BRENDAN: Brendan Kiley was born in an Alaskan fishing town and has lived all over the coastal U.S., as well as Spain, the Czech Republic, and Japan. He has written for the Boston Globe, the Utne Reader, Newsweek, the Forward, and the Stranger.
Note: This class is geared towards and is appropriate for adults. Aspiring writers under 18 years old are advised to check out the 826 Seattle writing workshops for students: www.826seattle.org
