Live music, authentic dances, and elegant refreshments. Beginners welcome! Modern evening dress or costume from the lifetime of Charles Dickens (1812-1870) is requested. The evening will begin at 7:00 pm with a lantern procession through the streets of Salem. After a break to change from winter boots to dancing slippers, dancing will begin at 8:00 pm. Dances will be taught during the evening, but if you want an advance lesson, your ticket includes a free workshop held in the same location on Friday December 11, at 8:00 pm. Delicious refreshments and charming entertainments are being planned for the intermission.
