The Atheist by Ronan Noone
"...the gutter-lyrical fireworks of the rogue male ego... a compelling voice..." -Time Out London

ABOUT THE PLAY

The Atheist by Irish born playwright Ronan Noone, is a full length solo piece.  Augustine Early, a crooked journalist who having lost his faith in God, has cast conscience aside to claw his way up the professional ladder. His  ego-driven journey, layered with humour and moments of humanity bring him close to redemption, restored faith and possible love, but he may have gone to far to be saved. Suspenseful!

LOCATION and DATES

The play is to open at the Church of St. Stephen's in the Fields, 103 Bellevue Ave. (at college, one street west of Augusta) Toronto, Ontario. How wonderfully fitting to perform The Atheist in a beautiful historic church!

November 12th - 15th / 5 shows ONLY!

WHY THE ATHEIST

I'm excited to be taking on the role of Augustine Early as The Atheist spoke to me on personal level. Having gone down that dark cynical road for a period of time myself, I truly relate to Augustine's lack of faith. However, unlike Augustine I made the choice to traverse my challenges and as a result, have emerged the other side with a positive shift in perspective. A shift that I believe allows me to tell the story of a character living life hopelessly from one bad choice to the next whilst yearning for the courage to change, with honesty.

As many of us know choosing a career in the performing arts has it's challenges. I have always had the utmost respect for those who take it upon themselves to create their own work; to find a project that brings purpose and creativity into their lives and to bring that project to life. I have spent years thinking about how I would like to one day be able to do that. Then one day it hit me... not intellectually but viscerally... what are you waiting for?
