Into the Woods

"Into The Woods," the 1988 Tony award winner for both Score and Book, has become a classic of the musical theatre canon. It is a magical and imaginative retelling of some of the world's most famous fairy tales. Only the Sondheim/Lapine version is rife with moral and political questions that haunt the viewer long after the last notes have sounded. The audience has been led on a journey to the darker side of these traditional fairy tales as they explore the pain of growing up, of communal responsibility, and the serious consequences of the sometimes impulsive choices we make. See Cinderella, her Prince, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack the Giant Killer, and others as they wrestle with these life altering questions.
