Sandbox Theatre's KILLER INSIDE
An all new Sandbox production featuring original music and lyrics inspired by the bloody tradition of murder ballads.
In the sleepy town of Pittsville sits Pittsville Penitentiary, a maximum security prison and the biggest business in town. Over the years, just about everyone in Pittsville has passed through its gates as employee, visitor or resident. Told with Sandbox's signature stylized movement, text and live music, KILLER INSIDE is an intense, gritty tour of Pittsville's five cell blocks and the men and women who inhabit them.
About Murder Ballads
The oral equivalent to tabloid journalism, murder ballads were sensationalist tales sung from town to town, spilling the bloody details of the country's most infamous killings and dirty deeds.
