Who are The Harlettes? The Harlettes have been delighting Toronto audiences since 2003. The founding members of the troupe have since departed, but original members Maria Juana and Chow Mein are working hard to keep the Harlettes brand of burlesque alive and strong! The demure and lovely Rouge La Rouge, and bewitching Bunny Angora joined the troupe in 2009 and never looked back.
Drawing inspiration from the 1920's to present day, the troupe specializes in group dances with an emphasis on choreography and humor. Most acts are cute and subtly sexy, but the girls aren't afraid to show their raunchy side from time to time. Each Harlette is also a strong solo performer and relish the opportunity to show off their individual personality and charm. This quintessential quartet is sure to shimmy their way into your heart!
The Harlettes produce independent productions throughout the year whilst also performing at various community, corporate and private events. Their independent productions happen twice
a year with a unique theme and special guest performers to round out the show. The Harlettes
believe producing just two shows a year ensures a high quality, uber entertaining evening you
won't soon forget!
They love to participate in the local burlesque scene, so if twice a year isn't enough Harlettes exposure for you, not to worry! They can be found performing at different venues all year long. The Harlettes have performed at the Toronto Burlesque Festival since its inception, at the Montreal Burlesque Festival in 2009 and 2011 and at Girlesque Expo in 2013 and 2014. This year they had the honor of performing at the New York Burlesque Festival and Maria Juana traveled to London, England to perform in their International Burlesuqe Festival.
The Harlettes have also been featured on Much Music, The Slice Network, Comedy Network, Cosmo TV and The W Network. They have been hired out for bachelor and bachelorette parties, weddings, corporate parties - even a Bar Mitzvah! - and would love to perform for your party or corporate function! Almost all our acts can be modified from an R rating to PG13.
