An Afternoon of Concerti
The Metro Chamber Orchestra continues its 12th season, returning to beautiful sanctuary of St. Ann & the Holy Trinity, for an afternoon of concerti played by some of the most brilliant virtuosi residing in New York. Concertmaster Una Tone once again solos with the orchestra in Sarikiz Violin Concerto by Karl Jenkins. Dr. Sylvia Kahan, a frequent guest artist of MCO, returns to the piano; this time to present Bach's monumental Concerto in D minor. The sensational young French harpist Mélanie Genin brings an authentic interpretation of Claude Debussy's Danse Sacre et Profane. Italian clarinet soloist Guido Arbonelli makes his New York orchestral debut with music by Donezetti and Dinu Ghezzo. Mr. Arbonelli has dedicated the program to the memory of Maestro Ghezzo.
