| Description |
In the spirit of Jules Verne and all of the great works of Victorian Science Fiction comes The Excursionists: An Aristocratic Adventure. Part quick-fire comedy and part 19th century imperialistic expedition, The Excursionists is a two-man, 60-minute ride performed at a depth of 20,000 leagues. Diving helmets are advised.
This theatre experience centers on the explorations of Lord Necksycracksy (Christopher Bange) and Professor Goggins (Jonah Von Spreecken), who find themselves country-less upon the discovery that their beloved England has sunk. Fortunately, with a most remarkable mode of transport, an underwater train aptly named The Neptunia Express, these two posh fellows embark on a quest to discover a new England...and hopefully one that won't sink.
Jonah Von Spreecken returns to the Fringe Circuit this summer, following last season's critically acclaimed solo show, Gloomology. "A Superb Solo Turn-4 Stars" -Edmonton Journal. "One of the must-sees of the fest-4 stars" -Winnipeg Free Press. "Best of Fest" -Winnipeg Fringe. He has also enjoyed successful Fringe runs in years past, performing in Plants and Animals (summer 2004) and Gilgamesh, IA (summer 2003).
Christopher Bange is a Seattle theatre performer, who has created and performed in various shows. He has studied clown, mime and ensemble-based theatre at the Dell'arte International School of Physical Theatre. With his company, The Baggy Pants, he has created original works including: Is this Your Duck? The Red Nose, Have You seen My Dog? and The Case of the Vanishing Crown Jewel: a Zip-Lock Holmes Mystery. The Excursionists marks his Canadian Fringe Circuit debut.
