Die drei Pintos (The Three Pintos) - by Gustav Mahler (Based on themes of Carl Maria von Weber)
Lovinger Theatre, Lehman College Bronx, NY
The Bronx Opera will open our 2009-2010 Season with the first New York staged performances of Die drei Pintos, a comic opera which was left unfinished by Carl Maria von Weber at his death in 1826. It was then passed around to various composers for more than sixty years and was finally completed in 1888 by Gustav Mahler. It has only been presented twice in any form in the United States; our performances will utilize the new scholarly edition of the score for the first time and present the opera in a new English version.
Note: For students and seniors: we offer $3 discounts for all seats. If you want to take advantage of this discount, buy a ticket at full-price here. Then show your ticket to an Opera staff member in the theater lobby; you will get your $3 back at that time.
Handicapped Accessible seating is available in each section. If you need to use handicapped seating, please call ahead.
