Bow Thayer & his band / Anders Parker & Cloud Badge
Bow Thayer and his band joins fellow Vermonters Anders Park & Cloud Badge for an evening of rock 'n roll. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Bow Thayer is an accomplished and prolific songwriter who cultivates influences from the worlds of rock, blues, folk, prog, bluegrass and everything and anything in between to produce music that is heartfelt, soulful and uniquely his. He has lived up to his "reputation as a sublimely gifted artist" by pursuing a creative vision that seeks to lead Americana music into the future. Finally gaining national recognition, American Songwriter Magazine says this "onetime Levon Helm compatriot is the best artist to come from New England in recent years." In April 2014, Bow released his first ever live album and he is currently working on his follow-up to his 2013 critically-acclaimed record, "Eden".
Across an almost 20 year career Anders Parker has cut his own path, zig zagging across roads and wilds with his music. Scorched earth rock songs, fragile acoustic tunes, shiny synth-pop, ambient instrumental drones, aching duets, pastoral folk, winding arrangements, and more, have all been explored through his prolific output: five albums under his own name, five albums under the Varnaline moniker, and projects with Jay Farrar, Jim James and Will Johnson. Parker's new record, There's a Blue Bird in my Heart, will be released on June 17, 2014 via his own Recorded and Freed label. The album of nine distinct tracks was created in Burlington, VT, with Parker's band, Cloud Badge (Creston Lea and Steve Hadeka) and is 21st century classic rock; each song is its own journey to the corners of Parker's musical mind.
