On November 1st, 2014, downtown Kitchener will host its second annual festival of art, culture, community building and nocturnal adventure, aka NIGHT\SHIFT (nightshiftwr.ca). The festival will feature a wide range of pop-up performances, installations and participatory creativity spread through more than 40 indoor and outdoor locations, including parks, parking lots, alleyways, streets, small businesses and cultural institutions.
NIGHT\SHIFT explorers who braved the slightly-below-zero temperatures last year will already know that staying warm is really the only thing they need to plan in advance. This year we're offering an easy way to do so paired with a great opportunity to sample the creative juices of five of downtown Kitchener's most fabulous purveyors of warm beverages (as well as caffeine and edible treats).
We've enlisted the brains behind the Yeti Cafe, Cheeses Murphy, Queen Street Commons Cafe, Cafe Pyrus and Matter of Taste to each create a delicious warm-up beverage and give it a snappy name. A Hot Drink Taste-Off Passport buys a 12-ounce taste of all five concoctions for the unbeatable price of only $9! It also gives you an excuse to put on your scarf, pack your travel mug and explore the NIGHT\SHIFT landscape knowing that there's a steamy, yummy drink waiting for you in five different spots between attractions.
