Martha Welborne, FAIA
Chief Planning Officer
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Martha Lampkin Welborne is the Chief Planning Officer at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).  In this role, she leads a staff of over 200 in planning the long-range future of transportation in the County, and in initiating the design and delivery of twelve new transit corridors approved by County voters in 2008.  She also oversees Metro's real estate department, regional capital development activities, the Management of all grants, and she oversees a variety of strategic initiatives such as the Master Plan of the historic Union Station property.

Previous to her role at Metro, Ms. Welborne was the Managing Director of the Grand Avenue Committee, a public/private partnership focused on revitalizing the civic and cultural districts of downtown Los Angeles.  Ms. Welborne graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Architecture, and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with both a Master of Architecture and a Master in City Planning.  She was also a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. She is a member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects and she has also served as President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.  

Calvin E. Hollis
Managing Executive Officer, Countywide Planning
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Mr. Hollis joined Metro in May 2011, following a 26 year career as an advisor in public private real estate transactions, and a two year assignment as acting CEO and then Chief Operating Officer of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles. Notable projects in which he played a major role included Hollywood Highland, home of the Dolby Theater; the Americana at Brand in Glendale; Paseo Colorado in Pasadena and The Montage Hotel and Public Gardens in Beverly Hills.

Responsibilities at Metro include overall management of the Real Estate and Joint Development Group, as well as the Active Transportation/Sustainability efforts.

Mr. Hollis is a former vice chair of the Urban Land Institute's Public Private Partnership Council (blue flight) , a board member of Pasadena Heritage, and a member of Lambda Alpha.
