LORNA'S SILENCE, A film by Jean-Pierre & Luc Dardenne, 135min, French, Albanian w/English Subtitles

Lake Worth Playhouse
Lake Worth, FL

Another masterpiece. The Dardenne Brothers exercise close scrutiny to create characters as troubling as ones we sometimes see in the street. We are drawn into another life, which is one of the great gifts the cinema gives us.
Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

From the Dardenne Brothers comes the story of a woman caught between love and the law of the underworld. Lorna, a young Albanian woman living in Belgium, has her sights set on opening a snack bar with her boyfriend, Sokol. In order to do so, she becomes an accomplice in a diabolical plan devised by mobster Fabio. But will Lorna remain silent?
