Marcus Luttrell's Patriot Tour Presented by Team Never Quit
TEAM NEVER QUIT PRESENTS

MARCUS LUTTRELL, BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND INSPIRATION BEHIND THE HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER LONE SURVIVOR, AND HIS PATRIOT TOUR COME TO TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA NOVEMBER 14, 2014.

Throughout his life, Marcus Luttrell has been many things - a son, brother, husband, father, best-selling author, the subject of a Hollywood blockbuster, and a decorated Navy SEAL.  Every step of the way, there has been one constant: his love for his country.  Marcus Luttrell is an American Patriot, and he's bringing you his amazingly true story of determination, valor, and survival live on stage!

Uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast. My word is my bond. ~ Navy SEAL Creed

Born and raised in Texas, Marcus began training for the SEALs at age 14.  He worked hard and achieved his dream.  On June 28, 2005, Marcus and three fellow SEALs were sent to the mountains of Afghanistan's Hindu Kush with the mission of "killing or capturing" a high-ranking Taliban leader (Operation Red Wings).  During an intense gun battle with Taliban forces, all but one of the SEALs sent on that mission were killed.  Marcus lived, though he sustained multiple gunshot wounds, survived horrific falls, and had to walk and crawl seven miles while waiting days for rescue. Returning home, Marcus was awarded the esteemed Navy Cross.  For many, that would be the end of the story.  For Marcus, it was just the beginning.

I will never quit.  My nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies.  If knocked down, I will get back up.  Every time.  I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates and to accomplish our mission.  I am never out of the fight. ~ Navy SEAL Creed

For his Patriot Tour, Marcus Luttrell presents an inspiring live stage experience and evening filled with stories only he can tell.  Whether it's been rebuilding his life with the help of his wife and children, honoring the sacrifice of his fallen brothers in his best-selling book and movie Lone Survivor, or supporting charities and foundations focused on helping returning veterans, Marcus Luttrell has never walked away from a challenge.

Brave men have fought and died building the proud tradition and feared reputation that I am bound to uphold. In the worst of conditions, the legacy of my teammates steadies my resolve and silently guides my every deed. I will not fail.  ~ Navy SEAL Creed

The Patriot Tour includes these very special guests:

Captain Chad Fleming (Retired)

Tuscaloosa native Chad Fleming is a graduate of Central High School and the University of Alabama.  He was also a Deputy Sheriff for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department.  He enlisted in the United States Army as an Airborne Ranger in 1999.   After completing basic training and airborne school he arrived at the Ranger Regiment where he began a grueling month long selection process that has an attrition rate of 67%.  His leadership skills and attitude earned him the honor graduate award for his class.  He was then assigned to the elite 3rd Ranger battalion where he served with distinction.  Upon successfully completing the Ranger Orientation Program he was selected to be a platoon leader with the 3rd battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.  He has served as an officer in the most demanding jobs the Ranger Regiment has to offer.  During his six deployments overseas Captain Fleming has been wounded in combat on three separate occasions (gunshot wounds and hand grenades).  He has undergone over 23 surgeries, which would later result in a transtibial amputation of his left leg.  He has deployed twice since his injuries and both times he chose to go back to the same unstable area of Iraq that cost him his leg.  After serving with distinction and receiving numerous awards and decorations including the Bronze Star, Captain Fleming retired from active duty but he still remains a vital part of the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Taya Kyle

Taya is the widow of former Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle. As the chief of SEAL Team 3, Chris served numerous combat tours, including four in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  For his bravery in battle, Chris was honored with many awards and citations including two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.  Following his combat deployments, Chris became chief instructor for training Naval Special Warfare Sniper and Counter-Sniper teams, and he authored the Naval Special Warfare Sniper Doctrine, the first Navy SEAL sniper manual, a best-seller American Sniper and then American Gun: a history of the US in Ten Firearms (posthumously). Chris died tragically in February of 2013 while giving back to his fellow veterans.

Taya's story to overcome and carry on after the death of her husband hits home with so many of our guests.  She is a living pillar of strength and an incredible role model for women all across the country.

David Goggins

Chief Petty Officer David Goggins was added to our last tour and brought us to tears through laughter at each of our Patriot Tour stops.  David is a SEAL and became an ultra-marathon runner with world records under his belt, while raising money for a variety of military foundations.  His story is so compelling to listen to as he recounts his childhood and the events that led him into the teams, and how he has become one of the top endurance athletes in the nation.

Pete Scobell

Our special guest is retired Navy SEAL Pete Scobell.  After graduation from the Naval Academy and serving almost 17 years on active duty, Pete moved in to the active reserves to pursue his lifelong dream of music.  Pete is passionate about sharing his experiences with others.  He will perform original songs and share stories only he can tell, straight from the heart.
