Meet some of the artists who will be participating in the Festival next year, dance to the wonderful music of Orqesta Borinquen led by Bill Ortega with a host of special guests including multi-Grammy nominee John Santos on Congas, John Calloway on flute and Wayne Wallace on trombone, Also enjoy performance art, good food and drink specials with the Festivals artists, staff and board members.
SFIAF Executive Director, Andrew Wood said of the event, Our board of directors thought it would be a good idea to combine unveiling next years festival with a party. For more than a year weve been working with our presenting partners and the artists to organize and raise money for 2010, so we wanted to celebrate the fruits of our labours and we invite everyone to join us. Its going to be lots of fun!
SFIAF 2010, the seventh annual festival, will take place from May 19-30 and will be headquartered at the scenic surrounds of the Fort Mason Center. Since the first festival in 2003 SFIAF, in collaboration with 65 presenting partners, has successfully coordinated and presented over 100 performing arts ensembles representing 40 countries from four continents, as well as numerous visual arts exhibitions, films and residency activities.
