INTRODUCTION TO ICHINAWA KAI (BEGINNER) 10.25.14 from 10 AM to 12:30 PM $75 per couple. 12 couple maximum. DESCRIPTION: An introduction to Otonawa's practice of Ichinawa kai style Japanese rope bondage. This class will focus on safety, beginner patterns and application in floor work based play. SKILL LEVEL: Beginner DURATION: 2.5 hours WHAT TO BRING: 5-7 lengths of 6mm hemp or jute rope, rubber mat, towel, water bottle.
KITAGAWA-RYU (INTERMEDIATE) 10.25.14 from 1 PM to 4:30 PM $120 per couple. 10 couple maximum. DESCRIPTION: This tour will be the first time Kitagawa-ryu has been taught in North America. This class will focus on floor work and partial suspension. Time allowing, full suspension may be demonstrated. SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate DURATION: 3.5 hours WHAT TO BRING: 5-7 lengths of 6mm hemp or jute rope, rubber mat, towel, water bottle.
ICHINAWA KAI (ADVANCED) - SOLD OUT!!! 10.26.14 from 10 AM to 5 PM $250 per couple. 5 couple maximum. DESCRIPTION: A full day of advanced Ichinawa kai class focused on bondage for performance. This class will include full suspension and dynamic suspension techniques. SKILL LEVEL: Advanced DURATION: 7 hours with a 1 hour lunch break WHAT TO BRING: 8-12 lengths of 6mm hemp or jute rope, carabiners/ring, rubber mat, towel, water bottle.
OTONAWA PERFORMANCE & INTERVIEW 10.26.14 from 7 PM to 9 PM $20 per person. 40 total attendees. DESCRIPTION: Watch as Otonawa executes one of his unforgettably dramatic rope performances with the assistance of the beautiful Tubasa. The performance will be followed by an interview and brief Q&A. DURATION: 2 hours

Otonawa has been a student of Hajime Kinoko since 2008. During this time he has been an active participant and has become a teacher of Ichinawa kai style of rope bondage, He is now respected as one of Japans top rope performers.
More than 18 years as a traditional Kabuki theater actor give his performances unmatched energetic, emotional, and expressive dimensions. Today he is one of the most popular stars of the Tokyo shibari scene, captivating even the most critical Japanese and European audiences. His dramatic acting skills and rare mastery of diverse rope styles make for dazzling performances.
Otonawa is both an organizer and Stage Art Manager of the famous annual Tokyo Shibari Festival, "Toubaku Shouen," which attracts top rope artists and enthusiasts seeking education and inspiration from all over the world. In Japan, Otonawa is published by Sanwa Publications and AV (Club Mania), and he appears frequently in the popular "SM Live Show." He is a member of Hajime Kinoko's professional team of shibari teachers and performers (the Ichinawa no kai group), and both a long-time student and admirer of Kinoko.
Since their marriage in 2012, Otonawa and the beautiful Tubasa have traveled, presented, and performed together as a team. Otonawa and Tubasa are often seen at Kinoko's shibari dynasty in Tokyo, the famous "Sleeping Beauty," and other high profile events, like the Kabukicho DX, Ontoki, Shishioto, and Geihosai.

Ichinawa kai has become the English short-hand for the style of rope practiced by the Ichinawa Kai group, led by Hajime Kinoko. This collective of Kinbaku enthusiasts are renown for their performances in Japan. The members of Ichinawa kai dedicate a great amount of time and energy to continually develop their wider understanding of the art. However, it's not all serious. Kitagawa-Ryu is the bondage style of Kitagawa Shuhei, a Tokyo-based artist, instructor and performer. Kitagawa Shuhei has been performing in Tokyo for over 10 years and currently teaches an ongoing rope salon in Roppongi at Club INDIGO. Kitagawa-Ryu is noted for it's specific attention to floor work and partial suspension ties. This tour will be the first time Kitagawa-Ryu has been taught in North America.
